Connect to HOD

If the HOD establishes a good RAS Server connection, it will appear on the Host list in the Web Console with similar ‘Ready’ status as that in the mini-control panel.  A 6-digit connection code is presented to the user upon launch.  Any Account User with appropriate access rights can click on the QuickConnect link or select the Connect command from the Host context menu to establish a Master connection with this HOD.  By default, the HOD is configured to require permission explicitly before allowing a Master connection; as a result, the Account User will have to wait for the remote user on the HOD machine to accept or reject the request for connection.  Meanwhile, the remote user will be given the option to accept or reject the Master connection request.  If the remote user is running Windows, and wants to accept the request and share their desktop, they can further specify exactly which services to allow the Account User to have.

Newly available in PROXY Pro v10.3, the Host and Master for Macintosh now support file transfer using the clipboard. This includes single file, group of files, and folders with recursive transfer. This functionality works both from Macintosh to Macintosh as well as between Macintosh and Windows operating systems

Also newly available for PROXY Pro v10.3, the Web Console landing page has a "Connect by PIN" field located at the bottom center of the page. Technicians may either connect to the Host on Demand session from within the Host on Demand group, or, enter the code and if the code entered matches that of a Host on Demand presently reporting in, the tech will be directly connected to the machine.

Best of all, the new-for-PROXY Pro v10.3 Host on Demand for Mobile has arrived.  It can be downloaded from the respective App Stores on both iOS and Android or automatically when tapping the Share button from a web console landing page.  We have extended support to Chromebooks that support Android apps and for all mobile platforms, we support connectivity for "view only" and do not support input control at this time.

Note: Once remote user accepts connection request, he/she will not have another opportunity to enable/disable any services.  The only option is to terminate the Master connection and allow the Account User to re-establish it (at which time, the remote user will be able to reconsider which services he/she wants to enable for the Account User).

If the remote user is running on a Macintosh, only Accept Connection or Reject Connection options are available.  Service selection is not available.

If the remote user does not respond with the pre-defined waiting period (Default = 30 seconds), then request for connection will be rejected.
